The Journey of Mista Min
From San Juan, Puerto Rico to West Palm Beach, Florida, to Austin, Texas, and now based in Munich, Germany, Mista Min (Marcos Deida) has witnessed extraordinary journeys, community struggles, and triumphant creative breakthroughs. His mission through music is to translate these raw, authentic human experiences into rhythm, poetry, and sound.
Rooted in authentic boom-bap traditions, Mista Min combines bilingual lyricism with technical audio engineering perfection. Whether rapping on a Neumann U47 vintage condenser, mixing on Telefunken buss analog chains, or executive-producing alongside hip-hop legends like Manchild (Mars ILL), his work stands for uncompromising artistic integrity.
In Austin, Texas, Min co-founded and executive-produced the legendary underground collective concept7 alongside David "produKt" Boone, bringing together voices like Manchild (Mars ILL), Scribbling Idiots, Sintax the Terrific, Sareem Poems, and Jeremiah Dirt. When the devastating 2011 Bastrop fires destroyed the primary studio backups, it was Min's personal archive vault that preserved the master sessions for Album Two: Broken Elegance.
Beyond his solo recordings, Min remains an active audio engineer, mentor, and collaborator behind acclaimed catalogs including concept7 and Primate City Music.
